Comparison of the DuBois Fort historical oak chronology from the
front cellar room with a regional
oak dating master located south of New Paltz. This result indicates that the addition to the DuBois
Fort was constructed from trees cut in 1835 or 1836. The correlation is much lower for this
cross-date, which means that the local sources of oak for construction were largely exhausted by that
time.
